Instant Classics.
Let's see what is has been happening. Went camping and rafting, been riding the bike so much this summer, eating lots of ice cream, and buying lots of records. It is your basic summer in Portland.
Minisnap "Bounce Around" is the debut full length from these Kiwis. Hailing from Christchurch Minisnap feature some of our favorite artists from another Kiwi band. Kaye, Paul, and Malcolm are from Minisnap are also one of my favorite bands and Magic Marker artists The Bats. They are completed with Marcus Winstanley on guitar. Kaye takes on the role of singer and songwriter for Minisnap and "Bounce Around" is twelve songs of pure joy. It isn’t often that a member of one of your favorite bands steps from supporting to lead role and completely bowls you over. Kaye does so with her angelic voice and heart filled songs.
The Manhattan Love Suicides "Burnt Out Landscapes" is 27 tracks of pure crash pop. This release features songs from the vinyl singles, compilations, radio shows, and songs only for this album. As anyone that has heard their debut album will tell you The Manhattan Love Suicides capture the pop sounds of Phil Spector and the wall of noise from The Jesus and Mary Chain. These tracks really show the range of the new indie pop classic "Jonny Boy" and the dirty noise filled "Heat and Panic" . They have bulked up to five piece and have been wowing folks all over the UK. Check for dates in London and their hometown of Leeds.
BOAT "Topps" is the limited collectors single. BOAT wanted to make sure you got the most for your single buying money. Not only do you get a fantastic 3 song single but you also get all songs plus a bonus song on digital download. Also included is 6 hand drawn and printed baseball cards, and even some gum. This is the first vinyl release by the boys in BOAT and it is a doozy See BOAT as they make their East Coast debut.
Lots of things coming up this fall. We will be celebrating our 10th year anniversary with releases, a show, and a Dear Nora singles compilation. Also we are working with some new bands that I can't say anything quite yet.
